your lungs are as my husband as been told e requirements a xray every 12 weeks to see if it as grown or moved at all but we hold never heard of them beforCan anyone convey me what nodules on?
Lung nodules — small piles of tissue in the lung — are reasonably common. They appear as round, white shadows on a chest X-ray or computerized tomography (CT) scan.
Your doctor may compare your current chest X-ray or CT scan beside a previous one. If the nodule appears in closer scans and hasn't changed surrounded by size, shape or appearance, it's probably noncancerous. Causes of noncancerous lung nodules include histoplasmosis, tuberculosis, lung cysts and vascular abnormalities. Such nodules usually require no treatment.
However, if a nodule is trial or has changed contained by size, shape or appearance, your doctor may recommend further testing — such as a CT scan, positron seepage tomography (PET) scan or tissue biopsy — to determine if it is cancerous.
It can be the start of lung cancer. It is important to save an eye on it. maybe he should hold a broncoscopy and have it biopsied if they haven't already. Good Luck! And don't cold-shoulder it. Lung cancer can spread faster than almost any other cancer.
