Can an MRI show...?

Ok, so i have a mass on my finger believed to be a ganglion cyst or ligament sheath tumor, but i am getting an MRI, so will the MRI show if it is cancer, or will it just show a mass? Can an MRI show...?
The gadget will show the mass if there is one at hand. Having worked in a disgnostic imaging department for 7 years, I can update you that there is no piece of equipment that shows whether a mass is cancerous. The only mode to know if through a biopsy.
An MRI does not diagnose masses, it will show one is at hand. In the case of your finger it will show a mass but in that are likely some signs it is a simple cyst. My guess is that they want to construct sure it is not a mass in bone. Likely it is something simple.
Yes, that's what MRI's do, show the doctor or physician if the lenient has cancer, a tumor and such. I get one for my neck, terminated up, I didn't have cancer.
