ive been looking online and have some trouble looking for common illnesses, what I’m looking for is the recommend time past its sell-by date for children with different adjectives viruses i.e the flu bug. I used to own a list of the different adjectives viruses and the symptoms and how long they hold to stay out of care for. I also necessitate information on head lice. try nhs direct and look up measles, mumps, rubells (german measles), chicken pox, cold sores, 'hand, foot and mouth', whooping cough, diarrhoea, meningitis, ring worm,
on the nhs imms website (below) the Green Book gives a detail of infections and a chapter on each stating their incubation times etc this should give a hand you.
also ask you local primary schools almost their policies as they might be able to loan you some resources to bed your policies on.
Contact your local Sure Start office, they're completely helpful and will enjoy all the info you stipulation. They can send you a folder containing everything you call for to know to meet the National Standards surrounded by every respect. I used it when writing policies for an out of school club.
sure start are well brought-up but also on the ofsted website they have some details. As for herald lice i was told it n manager lice that was up to the nursery how long they stay of we hold now done a policy on principal lice that staes that if your child has get head lice they must stay past its sell-by date 48 hours. All our parents have have a copy of the policy. You are not allowed to check children's spike but if you putting a clip in etc after you can phone parents.
